Great Time in Amsterdam!
March 2008, Amsterdam, Netherlands

Our family of 5 traveled to Amsterdam the last week of March. We had a fantastic time but the weather was quite cold. I would recommend going in late spring and summer when the weather is better and all the flowers are in bloom.

There is plenty to do in Amsterdam such as visiting the Van Gogh museum, the Anne Frank House and the Rijksmuseum. Of course there is the red light district which is very interesting but I would not take young children with you. Take a canal boat tour it is a great way to see the entire city from a different perspective.

We rented an apartment because it was much cheaper than getting 2 hotel rooms. It was centrally located and we bought groceries and ate in quite a lot since the dollar is so weak over there.

I would highly suggest that you take an excursion out of the city to see the fantastic windmills, flowers and quaint little villages. It is nice to get out of the city for at least a day. Amsterdam is a charming city with 900 years of history and I would definitely go back again.
